I sat on the checkout page for about a week, going back and forth, closing the tab, opening it again, my wife was sick of hearing about it, and then I just did it one night and the transfer was done the next day which I wasnt expecting. That was around nine months ago and I havent had a single problem with the channel since, this screenshot is me on a plane at 2am with the wifi on checking it like a lunatic because I couldnt sleep.

Before paying I sent support what must have been a dozen questions, most of them some version of whether YouTube would notice the channel had changed hands and put it under review. They answered every one and did not seem to mind that I kept coming back with more. Five months on, nothing of that kind has happened. The first payment was a few hundred dollars and it has gone up each month since; the AdSense page attached shows the most recent one. I make finance explainers, which is not a fast-moving niche, so I am content with the pace.

Been making 2K videos for three years, same style, same commentary, same everything, and they went nowhere, and then I put the exact same videos on this channel and, well, the numbers are in the picture. Transfer took about a day, I changed the name and the profile pic that evening and that was it (I kept the old banner for a week because I was lazy, nobody noticed). Bit annoyed I didnt know this was a thing sooner.

I'm not a techy person AT ALL so the handover was the bit keeping me up at night, I had visions of locking myself out of everything. Turns out they walk you through it one step at a time and the whole thing was done in an afternoon while the kids were at school. I've only had it since March and it's already just quietly ticking along, Studio keeps saying about the same as usual and I'll definately take usual every single month. My DIY videos are all me, my messy garage and my terrible drilling, and people are actually watching!

The letter came on a Tuesday and I stood in the hallway and CRIED. It had fourteen thousand subs when I picked it up and I just carried on posting my study vlogs the way I would have anyway, revision sessions, library days, all of it. My mum still thinks I'm mad for buying a YouTube channel, she really doesn't get it, but she's the one who took the letter off to get it framed so I think she's a little bit proud! Thank you to the support team for being so patient with all my questions in the first week.

The money is small so far and I would rather say so up front. The first of my two story channels made $133 last month, which was enough to clear the payment threshold, and the second only went live recently, so it is sitting at $53. Both are properly monetized and both pay into my own account, which is what I was paying for in the first place. Support was straight with me before I bought, in that they said the earnings would come down to what I uploaded and did not promise anything beyond that, and so far that is exactly how it has gone. Four stars because the numbers are modest, not because of anything on their side.

Six weeks ago I had a book channel with forty subscribers and one of them was my nan. Tonight I've got an email saying my payment was sent, just a dollar over the minimum, and I do not care how small it is, it's the FIRST money YouTube has ever paid me! The transfer itself was done in one evening, they sent the steps over, I followed them on the sofa with a cup of tea and that was that. Thank you to whoever was on support that night for answering my very silly questions.

Four years I had a channel, four years of tech reviews, and it never made a dollar, not one, so when I say this is the same me with the same camera making the same videos I mean it literally, the only thing different is the channel they went on. Had a video pop in March. It paid. On my old channel that wouldve been a nice feeling and nothing else. Normal days are 40 to 60 dollars. Transfer took a day, no drama

My main concern was that the subscribers might be bought, so the first thing I did after the handover was go through the audience tab and the retention graphs on the older videos. Everything looked like ordinary people watching for an ordinary length of time, and the views on my own uploads have held at about the same level month to month since. What I will say is that it has not taken off in the way I quietly hoped it might. In fairness, I have been posting a vlog every ten days or so rather than the twice a week I planned, so I cannot lay that entirely at their door. Steady rather than exciting, which the screenshot bears out.

The one thing I kept getting stuck on before I bought was where the money would actually go, like would it keep paying whoever had the channel before and I'd be posting for nothing, and I asked support this about three different ways. Turns out you swap the AdSense over to your own account on day one and Google sends you the email in the pic to confirm it, and every payment since has come to me. So that worry lasted about a day and a half.

Paid on a Sunday night fully expecting to wait a week and I'd recieved everything by the next morning, before I'd even done my skincare. Studio keeps telling me I'm getting 'about the same number of views as usual' which makes me laugh every time because my usual used to be ZERO, actual zero, on the little channel I'd been posting to for a year. Now it's a proper beauty channel with my face on it and the revenue tab finally has a number in it. My sister is next, I've already sent her the link, sorry not sorry!
